Work in the Community, Thursby

People involved with Stepping Stone 2to have got involved in a various work in the community.

The reasoning behind doing this work was to widen awareness of people with LDD. It was a way for people with LDD to access and contribute to the local communities and also to develop practically skills, by carrying out real work.

This blog story is about carrying out remedial work to railings at the Community Hall, in Thursby
The railings needed sanded back, repaired, a base coat and top coat of paint.

At every stage members of SS2to carried out the work, supervised by the Project Leader.

The railings had been, repaired, sanded down, and the first base coat had been applied

Those involved learned and used many skills to complete the work.
Here the top coat of paint is being applied
As is, the ethos of SS2to, everyone supports each other, which is important when completing tasks such as this.
